I rang for a scan report and was told it was not available, in spite of it being on the computer for a month. I tried to get the information from X-ray but they could not provide it. They agreed to send a copy to the GP. Today I had a call from the GPs receptionist to ask who had ordered the scan. I was unable to answer this query because all we received was an appointment date from X-ray with instructions as to getting blood tests and informing X-ray when they were done. The scan was done on 31st January. We cannot get any report because we are told the person who ordered the scan is the one to contact. I rang SWAH to ask if it was ordered by Mr Mullan who treated my husband for bowel surgery 18 months ago and was told it was, but he had left the Trust and only his replacement could give me the report.( There may be a replacement in the next few months, but I will not know) Nobody has asked if my husband is all right - I need the scan report for reassurance if nothing else. Personal responsibility is part of health care but it is driven to the edge by this kind of treatment. Can anybody help or is this standard treatment for patients today? Kate Adams | ||||||
