When my 89 year old mother, Betty, was widowed a few months ago she was devastated and completely fell to pieces. With no family members living within 100 miles, I had to obtain the list of approved care agencies from the council to urgently find daily help - from over 40 agencies I contacted Roses Care and I thank the heavens every day that I did.
All I was hoping for was for mum to have daily contact with someone who would keep her clean and make sure she ate and drank regularly. The staff from Roses quite simply surpass any expectations you may have - they really do "care", not just look after. The rapport they built with my heart-broken mum truly kept her going through her darkest months - they talked & joked with her, gently kept her clean as she became unable to attend to her own most basic needs, washed & combed her hair, heated her meals, washed and dried her daily laundry. They had the humanity to think of the smallest details - putting a necklace on her, dressing her in clothes which went well together (even though she never left the house in her final months).
There was never any hesitation in calling the doctor if mum seemed unwell or even "not herself" and I was always kept informed of any issues. They also fought on mum's side to make her daily routine more comfortable, arranging for nursing visits at home when mum had been advised to struggle to her doctor's surgery on a weekly basis or even more often. They always made sure mum took her medications.
To know that mum was in such caring and capable hands meant the world to me as I looked after my own children many miles away from her. Mum would have had no choice but to go into a home had it not been for Roses Care - she was desperate to stay in the house she'd shared with dad for 55 years and Roses made that possible.
Mum was able to pass away peacefully in her sleep in her own bed earlier this month and, even after her death, the Roses staff were still looking after her, insisting they were present when mum's body left the house and making sure the house was left safe and secure.
The bottom line is I couldn't have looked after mum better myself, and that's the highest accolade I can give. To anyone reading this review do not hesitate to contact Roses Care if you ever need help for yourself or a loved one |

The staff looked after my grandad for well over a year. He was able to stay in his own home into his 90s thanks to their care, and despite being a proud man who thought he didn't need help, he truly loved their visits. He called the carers his angels. They cooked his meals as well as looking after his personal care. They maintained his dignity, treated him like an individual and encouraged his stories. He had lots of stories and they will have heard them all several times!
Grandad thrived under their care and even when he became ill the carers did everything they could to keep him at home where he wanted to be.. When grandad died of lung cancer earlier this year they were supportive and attended his funeral. These carers go above and beyond your expectations - we strongly recommend them. I hope they are still around when I need them! |
