Shocking care of terminally ill elderly patient. Different staff arrived at various times, sometimes looking untidy and unclean. Did not take appropriate care to manoeuvre patient leaving them in pain and uncomfortable. Was told it wasn’t their job to do some tasks although this had been mentioned at initial meeting. Would not recommend and cancelled contract due to their uncaring attitude to patient. Disappointed NHS are using this company. |

Unprofessional, disorganised. A new inexperienced carer turned up one morning a hour early without our knowledge until a neighbour called to tell me. Problems with my Parents being supported with their medication. It appears Care plans are not read by the senior staff prior to sending New carers into vulnerable situations. My mother has dementia and so I requested that where possible the same carer attend, so as not to frustrate and confuse her and to keep things into some form of routine - We have only had the care package in for approximately 4 months sadly since the 'Care' was put in place my Mother has declined possibly due to additional stress and it has been so stressful for the entire family. Changes in medication were not updated promptly on the MAR even though the office were informed each time. Carers asked my Mother what she thought she should be taking ! Carers turning up late or early, so no routine for Mum or family about what time to take Mum home. On one occasion a carer did not turn up it appears they were stressed and left the company, the office did not realise for over 2 hours (even though they have to book in with the office) and then sent another carer knocking out the times for her meals /medication. The office did not tell us this but the carer had the common sense to contact us and we have since employed them to work for the family. Overall the carers themselves are good at what they do, the majority 'want' to work and try to engage but its difficult with such a huge age gap. Most complain that they are overworked, it is clear hey are not allocated enough time to be with the client. They are not informed by the office when there are changes to their rotas - We as a family have decided to go with Direct Payment and employ our own carer to get the stability and care that our Mum needs - and we are able to get almost double the amount of hours from our award. |
