ICU Care Limited

ICU care team provided Home care to my Dad in the last month of his life. We were so touched by the degree of kindness, compassion and dignity with which they carried out the care for my Dad. We named them our angels. They were all consistently kind, understanding and thorough. They always treated my Dad with the utmost respect and dignity in performing his very intimate personal care. My father was always scared of being treated like a child when he was older, as so many people are disrespectful of the elderly. They always greeted him kindly using his name instead of some derogatory term and respected his wishes in all that they did. I would recommend them eyes closed to anyone in our situation to care for a dying or sick loved one.

My dad was allocated ICU Care LTD to provide home care for when he was moved on to end of life care. My family and myself do not know how we would have coped without the professional nursing care, support to my family but more importantly the above and beyond the care they gave to my dad. They listen to my dad and saw him as a person, they tend to all his needs both physically and emotionally. They were always positive and professional when they arrived, they carried all care we requested, nothing we asked was to much for them. When I was disillusioned with NHS healthcare, the ICU staff gave my dad the care and attention he deserved. They ensured that my dad was comfortable at all times, never rushed him and cared for him. The small team gave us confidence in the high level of care they provided they all knew my dad and his needs, never once did we have to say what happened on the previous visit or the day before as they already knew. They provided us with everything we needed for our dad, when the NHS left us with nothing. When we had a team meeting about my dad's care with the other health providers they came to support us and represent our dad, this they did of their own accord and that say's everything about the team. There are no words to describe the care and devotion to providing patient centred care and without this the situation regarding my dad would have been intolerable. They provide excellent, highly skilled and professional nursing care.

My wife Linda has Alzheimer's disease and although I have cared for her at home for some considerable time by myself, it became obvious that I could not continue to provide this on a permanent basis and required help in looking after her. Consequently ICU Care were asked to take on the task She has complex needs and on occasion can be very difficult to deal with. Throughout the whole of the relatively short time caring for her, all of the staff showed the utmost professionalism with her care. She could get aggressive and uncooperative on occasion, and they showed a great deal of patience and were adept at making her at ease and relaxed so they could do their work, nothing was too much for them. When they spoke to her it was as an adult, and after a few visits she got to know them and developed a friendly acceptance of them, resulting in a far less stressful experience for her. They were always on time with their visits and they always had a friendly positive outlook. An excellent team providing an excellent service.
