My mother has been receiving palliative care on Hugh Squier Ward for a number of weeks. Every member of staff has shown enormous compassion, care and competence in providing care. They have made every effort to make care personalised and to ensure my mother remains at the centre of decision making wherever possible. I cannot thank the staff team enough, on behalf of my whole family, for making the end part of our mother’s life as comfortable as possible. This local community hospital has made a huge difference to my mother’s quality of life at this time. Original Comment Report...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us at what must be an extremely upsetting time for you and your family.
I am pleased that the end of life palliative care which is being given to your mother by the staff at South Molton Community Hospital (SMCH) shows compassion, and your mother is being made as comfortable as possible. The care and treatment which a patient receives at any stage in their life is important, and it is good to know that the level of care which is being extended to your mother is making a difference to her quality of life at this time.
I have forwarded on your kind comments to the Ward Manager of Hugh Squier ward at SMCH where they will be warmly appreciated and shared with staff.
Kind regards
