Jul 10 2023 I went to Hexham for a second opinion and after an x_ray was delighted to receive a full explanation of what was required and what would be done to my shoulder which has severe erosive arthrophy. This makes me inclined to have the operation in Hexham rather than Carlisle where I was not given such an explanation. I would be interested to know how long the waiting list is at Hexham since I believe it would be better done there.

Oct 5 2023 I attended the open, urgent care department on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised by the condition and cleanliness of the place. The staff were extremely helpful and after a very short wait in a large, comfortable waiting area, I was called in and had my condition correctly diagnosed within minutes. After a few more minutes I was provided with a full course of medicine to take and given all the information that I needed to look after myself from thereon. A brilliant hospital with good good staff.
