I was admitted early Wednesday morning for facial swelling due to infected tooth absess. Was treated with care and respect by all involved on ward 3. The maxx fac doctors were all superb no stone was left unturned to find the root of my problem. The nurses and all staff on ward 3 were also superb, nothing was a problem for them. From being admitted to hospital to being discharged 3 days later I felt safe calm and cared for at all times. Thank you |

I had a scheduled 15 min appointment that I had waited 6 months for. I waited approximately 25 minutes to be seen, the dr who saw me seemed stumped so sent me to another department. But I had to go to a&e to get to that department. I explained to the receptionist why I was there, and it wasn’t for a&e. I was told to sit in a&e and wait, an hour passed, I was called in to triage and the nurse was treating me as an a&e patient, I explained I was only here to see another unit, the surgical unit, she made a call, said I was right, then told me to sit in the waiting room again. Another 40 minutes passed then I was sent to another department. I explained when I got there why I was there, so the surgical team could have a quick look at my issue and make a plan for another day on some minor surgery. I was told the wait time to see anyone was up to 8 hours. I panicked as I only had childcare for a little while, my disabled father was waiting in the car park as we had to drive 1 hour to get there as we don’t live in Preston. I asked to rebook; they spoke to me like I was crazy for ‘self discharge’ but I tried over and over to explain that I only came in for a 15 minute appointment and I’d not been in the hospital over 4 hours. They told me to wait in the waiting room then someone will call me to rebook. I waiting another hour! I was hungry, thirsty and tired at this point and still no idea how I was going to be fixed up. They eventually agreed I could come in the week after but no guarantee on how long I’ll be waiting to be seen, and this won’t even be for the surgery, so I have to travel two hours both ways again to just have someone look at it. I felt so upset, so messed around. All the staff, nurses including seemed flustered, angry, rushed off their feet, agitated, tired, which of course made them snappy and rude, there wasn’t any care for the patients waiting, no checking we were ok or anything. I know this isn’t their fault, it’s the way the NHS is now. But there has to be a better way that working these people into the ground. As for my case, I wish that there was more communication and organisation to make sure I get seen by the correct person the first time. |

I work at a dialysis unit in Leeds & needed to arrange urgent dialysis for a patient who had gone to Blackpool on holiday, the Sister on the dialysis unit was helpful & accommodating & accepted my patient for dialysis which avoided him having to travel back to Leeds for dialysis |
