I attended Babington hospital, Belper this morning for a blood test and found the staff friendly, efficient and helpful. My appointment was on time and the department was easy to find as it was well sign-posted. Only sorry that Babington is not used more, as it would be ideal for convalescent patients, thus freeing up beds at larger hospitals.

I am a nightmare patient for taking a blood test! After breast cancer surgery I cannot have blood taken from my right arm because of the risk of lymphedema and I had chemo in my left arm so my veins are hard and can`t be found! A lovely nurse called Julie was so kind and gentle. She was very positive and I hardly felt anything as she did the test. After years of treatment it makes such a difference when people are kind. Julie is definitely someone you would want to have looking after you if you were poorly!
