- Cavan & Monaghan Hospital currently provides services to the population of both counties and its catchment area extends to counties Meath, Longford and Leitrim. All acute inpatient services are based in Cavan General Hospital. Monaghan Hospitals primary role includes the continuing care for medically discharged patients requiring inpatient stepdown and rehabilitation care. Both Hospital sites provide extensive outpatient, theatre and day services with a Minor Injuries Unit located on the Monaghan Hospital site.
Cavan Monaghan Hospital also provides a wide range of support services, including: pathology; radiology; pharmacy; physiotherapy; speech therapy and occupational therapy. Cavan General Hospital is a teaching hospital with links to the Royal College of Surgeons, Royal College of Physicians and the Dundalk Institute of Technology, etc. Students working under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals may be in-volved in your care. Both sites are actively engaged with HIQA (Health Information & Quality Authority) in meeting their standards to ensure we continually strive to provide a high quality service. -

Nov 27 2022 I was in endoscopy unit this morning I can only say what expert care I received from check in the Covid reception and up to the ward. It was fast and very efficient The nurses and all the staff were so nice I was in and out in no time even though it was very busy and a Sunday morning Thank you all You are all a credit to the H .S.E Mary Caffrey

Aug 31 2022 Good morning, my wife’s sister Miss Anna Finnegan is at present in your recovery unit after breaking one of her femur’s, yesterday my wife Mary rang twice and each time she was cut off, just what’s going off there ? My wife only wanted to know how Anna is coming along and to let Anna know that Mary had rang. So IF it’s possible could you let us know about Anna’s recovery and how she’s feeling, we live in Eckington in Derbyshire, so obviously we cannot just “ pop in “ to see her, please don’t dismiss this email as junk. Sorry I’ve had to contact you this way but your reception email address is coming up as invalid.
