Gorsey Clough Nursing Home

Very impressed with the care our granddad has been receiving at the Gorsey Clough. He’s happy and relaxed and put on a lot of weight since moving in. His room ismodern and smells nice and the staff treat him well. He was in another home before but we didn’t like how he was treated there. Happy he is here now :)

I happened to be passing Gorsey Clough one day and decided to have a quick look. Putting Mother in a care home was something that was on the cards but I wasn’t sure when. I hadn’t looked anywhere else but I knew straight away that this was going to be her home when the time came. I was shown round by the care quality supervisor and they explained everything to me in a way that didn’t overwhelm me as there’s a lot to take in like finance, social workers and care plans. I didn’t feel pressurised to make a decision and kept in touch until the time came for mum to go into Gorsey. She’s been there for nearly two years now and I’m extremely happy with my decision. She’s always dressed immaculately, has made new friends and is often more lucid now than when she was at home feeling isolated and lonely.

I’m very satisfied with Gorsey Clough Care Home and everything they do to care for my husband. He’s had a number of chest infections and each time we thought we’d lose him but the nursing team has been wonderful and he’s pulled through. I visit most days and I’m impressed with the Activities staff and what this person does with the residents. My husband is a retired engineer and this person regularly does reminiscence sessions with him and I see the joy on his face, which makes me happy but also sad because I remember the man he once was.
