Sycamore Hall Care Home

My father spent over six years in this home before being forced to move for End of life Care and the differences between the two homes are glaring. Having spent £100,000’s it really does make you wonder! Sycamore Hall often smells of urine when you enter. It has sparse bedrooms with cheap quality furniture and fittings. The bathroom needed painting, the shower was broken and generally getting them to mend these things always took an argument. Nothing but nothing was a priority. We once found excrement on the back of his chair in his room. It had obviously been there for some considerable time. Clothes washing rarely removed the stains from food and attention to details on jackets or making sure shoes were clean just never happened. Everything seemed just to lacked care and compassion for our father. When we emptied his room, having been asked to leave on hearing he was EoL, we found stacks of unwashed dirty clothes stuffed in bottom drawers..why they were never checked I do not know? The staff were always pleasant but always seemed over worked. The management seemed to change regularly and were clueless to the residents welfare when asked. All in all I am seriously not impressed.
