Rang on Friday to book a dentist appt for my 2 year old. We were overdue and I was expecting to have to wait ages to get him seen, but they got us booked in for Monday (today)! I’m very nervous when visiting dentists, and even though it was my son being seen, I still felt anxious, especially as this was only the 2nd time he’d been to the dentist and the first time we came he refused to open his mouth. The dental nurse came out to the waiting room to collect us, she was lovely and immediately engaged my son on the toys he had with him. Once we got to the treatment room the dentist spoke to my son first and instantly put us both at ease. He showed my son the chair moving and asked if he’d like to sit in it, of course my son agreed and the dentist moved it up and down. He then asked if my son would mind if he had a look in his mouth and showed him the mirror he would be using. My son was happy and relaxed and the dentist spoke to my son the whole time he was doing it. The dentist then asked me a few questions, and asked if I minded him putting some gel on my sons teeth, which I said was fine. He then explained to my son what he was about to do and asked if that was okay. Once done, they offered him a choice of stickers and we were in and out in 5 mins! Great visit and I felt a lot more relaxed about coming in the future.
