After registering as a NHS pt in 2015/16 i had quite a lot of work done including a new set of recommended dentures that were quite expensive. Since then i have had a couple of Appointments mainly to see the hygienist, the last one i think was 2017? Since Friday evening i have suffered with severe toothache over the Bank Holiday weekend not even reduced by pain killers or clove oil. I contacted "my dentist" today to get an appt & after confirming my details was met with....... you haven't visited for a while have you.. I would've preferred something like, i hope you are not in too much pain, how can we help? She then asked if my appt was to see the hygienist, when i said no she said i will have to just check as it has been longer than 2 years since you saw a dentist. An answer finally came back that i had been removed from the NHS Pt register..........but they could see me if i paid private?? I was shocked & disappointed at the lack of Pt care; also the fact that i hadn't received any communication warning me of this. A very very poor way to run a practice.
