I Phoned the surgery this morning to make an appointment to speak to a GP . I was asked if a call from a practice nurse would do. I said no I wanted to speak to a GP. Later that Morning I got a call from a practice nurse. On another occasion a submitted a sputum sample to be sent to hospital for analysis to see what type of bug was causing my chest infection. The sample was sent to the hospital without any accompanying form so the path lab rejected it as they did not know what to test it for. This caused a one week delay in me being prescribed an antibiotic that worked on the bug I had. I was very ill for a week longer than I should have been. Earlier this year I phoned and asked for a telephone consultation (that's the only kind they do). A GP phoned my while I was driving on a busy dual carriage way with no place to pull over so I could not answer my phone. He phoned again 30 seconds later, I was still on the same road and could not pull over. A message was then left on my landline answer machine asking me to make another appointment. Why couldn't the GP have phoned another patient or two and then called me again?
