Having had an infection post surgery I have needed to have my dressings changed every day. The receptionists I have spoken to were very understanding and managed to find me appointments at short notice. I have seen 4 different nurses so far and each one has been incredibly kind. At one point I became distressed and the nurse who was changing the dressing was so kind. She gently suggested I ring someone to pick me up, and that I sit with her till they arrive. She fetched me a glass of water and seemed disappointed I wouldn't let her give me a cup of tea! I am a temporary patient as I am staying in the area while I recover from the operation. Whilst my GP surgery at home is good it doesn't compare to the Lodge. How lucky your patients are to have you taking care of them! I am so impressed with the compassion I have been shown at this practice. The team really are a special group of people.

Please would you pass on my sincere thanks to the receptionist I spoke to late afternoon on Friday concerning a dire situation concerning my very elderly Mother. She informed me that the practice manager was covering the St Albans clinic on Saturday and that she would more capable of giving me definite answers to my questions. So refreshing to come across someone using their common sense and positive attitude. Sorry Sweetheart I did'nt get your name but Thankyou. Visited St Albans clinic Saturday morning, had a very understanding conversation with the practice Manager about my elderly Mothers needs. Returned Monday morning with the relevant paperwork to be met with a delightful receptionist. By 4pm that same day the receptionist had called my Mother to confirm she had arrange an appointment for her. What you Girls achieved is commendable. Keep up the good work. Thankyou

Thank you for taking the time to comment about your experience. I know the two ladies that you spoke with and I have passed your comments and thanks on to them. I have also shared this with the wider practice team as I think we should be proud of the service that we provide. Working in the NHS is not an easy job and it is so kind of you to give us this feedback. I hope everything is now sorted for your mother, you know where we are should you need any other assistance Caroline Braxton Business Practice Manager

I am a temporary patient, as my family have moved to my parents' house while I recover from major surgery. I had called and asked for some more painkillers. The very kind receptionist arranged for the doctor to call me. When the doctor did call me back my condition had worsened and I was worried I had an infection. This was at the end of the day, I'm sure it was a really inconvenient time, but she asked me to come in and see me straight away. I arrived in my pyjamas and the receptionist immediately put me at my ease as I was in pain and embarrassed. The doctor was incredibly kind and compassionate with both me and my husband. After a consultation she advised that I go back to the hospital where I had had the surgery (via A and E). I ended up being readmitted for a week and treated for an infection. I was utterly blown away by the care I received. Thank you so much.
