Whilst I understand GPs need to communicate difficult news at times, not only was this not one of those moments, one would also think that a doctor with a degree of experience might have something resembling a bedside manner. The resident GP was incredibly insensitive to me and without good reason. She also said something different from what I was told at hospital, with a great deal of what appeared to be puffed up confidence. She made an unnecessarily snide and mocking statement about something very difficult for me to discuss even though this was her first time talking to me and even though her opinion was not sought on that particular issue (I was there for something else). She took it upon herself to have a stab anyway. I left the surgery in tears and will be avoiding her like the plague in future. Just for the record, the reception staff on the two occasions I have been to the surgery were very nice.
