I am quite new to the area. I had a bad experience at this practice. About 12 weeks ago I was carrying a heavy shopping bag and my arm started hurting a lot. I contacted the practice after waiting for about 25 minutes on the phone, a lady doctor rang me back. She was okay, she gave me some advice and prescribed me tablets to take for 3 weeks and contact the surgery again. No improvement, I am like a disabled person now and I can't use that arm for anything. I placed another call to the practice waiting for half an hour again. Another lady doctor rang me and said something ultrasound and put the phone down in a few seconds. I am not a person, she did not want to talk to me. I thought who is this weird doctor? After the ultrasound was done, I was told that my tendon was torn. I had a text message to discuss the situation with my doctor. After another call and lengthy wait the same doctor rang me back. Again all she said was I am referring you, they will....., she didn't even complete the sentence. She didn't tell me where she was referring me to. I had to say, can I tell you my problems, and told her, to which there was no response. She mumbled when we get older.... It wasn't that, I had an injury. She doesn't want to talk to the patient, no interaction. She couldn't be bothered, she shoved it onto the referral people. I know referrals are essential but as my GP she had a duty to discuss at least briefly about my ultrasound. Any discussion with her is completely out of the question. She doesn't seem to have any care or compassion. To my horror I discovered that she has been allocated to look after the elderly. All I can say is God help them. I am of the older generation but not exactly elderly. How I felt is anybody's guess.
