What on earth has happened to this once amazing practice that we were so blessed to have? 20 years my family have been with them and they were without a doubt 5 star. Now they have merged you can never get an appointment at Heatherside itself less than 2 weeks, you can't see the same GP if you need a review. Once I was given a phone appointment, I lost my signal. So I immediately called back and was told by the receptionist I'd have to go back to the bottom of the list to wait for a call back. Since I work for the NHS I understand this is the reason why people are now clogging up our A&E system with problems that require the GP because they don't stand a chance of being seen on the day. The system which was once about people is now being treated as a business and it simply doesn't work. Peoples lives are being put at risk.

Over the last 18 months I have had to see 4 different GPs for an ongoing problem due to doctors leaving the practice. Just as I thought I was now able to see one that would be a permanent option I have just learnt that this GP is not often at the Heatherside Surgery. It is rediculous that there is no information as to which GPs attend which sites within the Park Road Practice or how many doctors are on duty on any given day. I note that none of the earlier reviews have received a response from the practice - that would appear to say everything about the practice. It appears that the Heatherside patients are getting the short end of the stick for appointments. It is not helpful to be told that we can attend Park Road Surgery as there is limited parking and now, thanks to the powers that be, only 1 bus per hour. The information on this web site also needs updating.
