Complete and utter joke. Rude receptionists and Doctors who just don't care...I would like to remind them of their oath....

In the days of this pandemic, I thought it would be imperative that the covid vaccination is given within the timescales set by government of 12 weeks, however at this practice where my son is a patient we are around 14 weeks. Despite several calls to the practice, where I have had to wait anything up to 45 minutes, we are no further forward. My problem is that my son is in a residential home for adults with severe learning disabilities. Some of the adults he lives with also have health needs. They were vaccinated in the first cohort for people who are vulnerable and yet there appears to be no urgency in them having their second vaccination. The outcome of my phone calls, is the nurse who attends the residential home is off sick. Please, has the practice only got one nurse? If no one can go out to the home, can it not be arranged for the clients go elsewhere? In my first call, I was told it’s okay as they can go up to 6 months. Wrong! I questioned this when attending the Oasis Centre, QA Hospital where I had my vaccinations and was told this was not proven and it is imperative the second vaccination is done. These adults, including my son do not have the mental capacity to understand about the pandemic, why they have had to stay indoors and not see their family and friends. They have endured Covid-19, they have had to put up with isolation and have coped well under the circumstances, and through these strange times. I can’t thank the staff enough for the care and dedication they have given during these difficult times. Why is it then, it is the NHS in the name of Bosmere Surgery who are letting these vulnerable people down? I am sure the practice must have more than one nurse and if they are unable to get out to the home, then at least arrange for some, if not all these patients to come to them. Why is it, that it is always those adults with learning disabilities who are put to left, as they do not matter. They may not have a voice but us parents and the care staff do. Please as a matter of urgency, can my son, together with those he lives with be given some respect and confirmed dates given for them to have the second covid vaccination?
