Iv Bern a patient of Giffard drive surgery since 2000. For the most part IV Bern satisfied with the care and attention. I just feel that the time I was referred to a physiotherapist over problems I have with my knees, I should have been referred to a orthopedic specialist. Because I feel I have a problem maybe with arthritis in the knee joints, I haven't found exersizes have helped with my knees. In fact they have got worse. So may be more than carliage and so on causing a problem I have noticed that my legs and feet swell when I'm sitting down, but the swelling goes away when I lie down. Had s key hole knee surgery done in 2012 by a orthopedic surgeon. Lately I'm struggling to raise myself up from my knees to get out of a bath. But because I'm not a disabled person with yet a recognised disability I can't seem to get my housing association to install a bath seat lift in my bath free of charge.. They prepared to install a new bath freely, but not with s adaption of a bath seat lift. I have to turn over in my stomach in the bath, to try push myself up as can't do so from s normal sitting position. I hope iv said enough to explain why I feel I need to be referred to a orthopedric specialist and not to only a physiotherapist each time. Otherwise I'm pretty content as a patient. Staff are lovely and helpfull, doctors all nice. I was a patient of Dr Stuart for a long time before he retired. So was my late husband.
