I was in an unfortunate position where I had run out of my medication. I contacted the surgery to request a repeat prescription, I was informed that I would have to go via my pharmacy, as the GP's receptionist were unable to carry out my request. I contacted the pharmacy who informed me that they would put an urgent request in as it was Christmas and I would be out of my medication, which I rely on especially my antidepressants. The pharmacy contacted me to say that they had only received a prescription for pain killers, and said that they were really sorry as they knew how important the prescription was. I contacted the surgery in a right state, and tried to explain my situation. Firstly the receptionist was very abrupt, they then went on to say that no request had been received, yet obviously it had as the pharmacy had a prescription for pain killers. When I became more distressed the receptionist told me that they had put the request through even though apparently they are not allowed to. They then went on to say I should call later to see if the doctor had done it. They then promptly put the phone down on me. If this is how a doctor's surgery feel they can treat vulnerable people then they are in the wrong proffesion.

i recently joined this surgery as i moved to the area. the initial check up appointment was made very fast but since then i have been trying to get a dr appointment as the meds and injection i need has to be re-prescribed by my gp. i refuse to walk all the way to derby road as i have problems with my feet and knees. i also have accute insomnia which means i have difficulty getting to sleep and waking up- making 8am phone calls impossible unless i physically make myself stay awake all night. i am already regretting changing doctors, i may as well of stayed with Havant Health Centre, it may have cost a fortune on bus but at least i could get an appointment!
