I recently had to see a GP here for my 1 year old daughter. From booking the appointment (quick access over the phone/friendly and efficient receptionist) through to seeing the GP (who called me through with very little waiting time), I had a very positive experience. The GP was confident, had good communication skills and managed the problem extremely well. This experience was consistent with my previous experiences of this practice- all very positive.

Various websites indicate that the practice opens at 8am, the receptionist today told me that they've had appointments booked from 8.30am. Knowing this I can't understand how the doctor managed to be an hour late for a 9am appointment. There are signs in the waiting room that say each appointment will be for 10mins. Even if you double that I can't understand how you can amass an overrun of an hour so early in the day. It's upsetting, especially when it takes some of us quite a lot of effort to get to the practice, contending with rush hour traffic etc. After waiting so long I had to leave without seeing the Dr. It was a complete waste of time. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this practice.

Without knowing the exact circumstances, it is difficult to comment on why this happened. Doctors can run late for a variety of reasons and if they are on duty from 8am, they can be sorting urgent queries, talking to other healthcare professionals etc. before even seeing their first patient. The doctors at Royal Crescent always try to give each patient the time they need, but of course we are aware this can sometimes have a knock on effect for others. I am extremely sorry for the delay. We do try and keep patients informed if the doctor is running particularly late, which does not seem to have happened in this case. I hope you have been able to re-book your appointment. Although I have to book routine appointments a month or more in advance for my doctor, Dr Williams, I also have the option of an on the day appointment if it is urgent. I have mental health problems and an chronic illness and I recently needed an urgent appointment due to an SH incident. I was able to get the other doctor I trust to do a phone appointment that day. I honestly have not had doctors like them and can't recommend them enough. I'm a bit worried as we are moving and I won't be able to find another surgery like this one.
