I have had several bad experiences in this chemist and as its the only one in garstang I can walk to I have no choice but to use it ( my doctors Garstang Medical Centre will not allow RX to be sent on line to a chemist of choice) . I take regular meds so visit at least once amonth but to be honest I have always tried to get others to collect my meds as I hate going in. Last Saturday I went to collect my tablets . While there I was looking for a couple of other items and heard an assistant helping two ladies with perfume. The assistant was polite without being condescending she took time to find out the customers preferences and did her upmost to ensure the ladies felt valued and important - she gave them her time they weren't rushed and we're encouraged to try . The result - 2 substantial sales AND happy customers. As the ladies left I approached the assistant and said who pleasant it was to hear the way she conducted her self whilst serving her customers . I remarked on how the atmosphere in the whole branch had changed - for the better. There was organisation every one was doing something . In the past I have been in and been totally ignored while staff talked and ate around the back other visits have resulted in me walking out in tears after being made to feel stupid in front of a shop full of people . This lovely assistant apologised for my previous experiences and assured me that things were now very different at the branch . I asked what had happen to instigate such massive improvements . Well she said I am actually the relief manager! The manager leads by example and obviously loves her job what ever she has done / doing to the staff at this branch long may it continue. - I understand she travels some distance to work in the Garstang branch I do hope the traveling does not become prohibitive and she heads Garstang Well for a long time to come.
