We have been using this chemist for probably 20yrs and apart from a couple of hiccups which happened very infrequently and I do mean infrequently (which was down to the warehouse that supplied the drugs) the prescriptions always arrived when stated and with no problems what so ever, drugs that were not in the main warehouse stock I have known the pharmacist go above and beyond the call of duty to source them somewhere else......and took the time to make sure they were delivered (even doing the delivery them self to our home), if there was a problem they would keep us in formed of the situation via the phone. That is until now..... Approximately 8-10 months ago the original chemist retired, as people do, another company took over the chemist and must have installed another pharmacist or two in their place. Since then each prescription except one (bearing in mind I’m on about mine and my wife’s) has needed tracking down or tablets have not been dispensed or arrived as promised. We gave them time to settle in, thinking it was just teething problems and hoping things would improve....needless to say it didn't. The ones I really feel sorry for are the assistants and the delivery drivers who went from a well oiled friendly chemist with the original pharmacist, to a total shambles and having to put up with all the agro from customers/patients because of missing prescriptions/drugs, promised unfulfilled delivery dates that go by without a word of explanation or proper reason. This is not the fault of the poor long serving staff, but the fault of the new chemist. It’s a case of just c.b.a. Here are just a few examples we have had to endure. In general a can't be bothered attitude. (from the chemist, not staff) endless phone calls back and forth between the doctors and the chemist. Two months ago I was missing a drug, so I had to go and collect it, but when I went to collect it, it still hadn't been dispensed, so I had to wait for the chemist to dispense the medication whilst my sick wife sat in the car.To my horror they started counting them yet they had not gone and washed their hands before, or put on gloves), they then put my now contaminated medication on the serving table to keep them in piles of 10, more contamination added. (I now had the worry of what germs where on the counter from previous uses). I have even witnessed the staff correcting the pharmacist and telling them they’d put the wrong medication out and the staff sorting out the pharmacist’s many blunders. Why oh why have the heads of the business allowed it to get this bad?. In short the people in S14 and other areas that have so heavily relied on the fantastic service have now lost one hell of a good chemist and been left with someone who’s trust, care, and hygiene leaves a lot to be desired. Something seriously needs sorting. Original Comment Report... |
