I work for the NHS and can easily get an eye test for a fraction of the price with my Blue Light card but chose to come back to Vision Value because of the thorough eye test you receive here. I have been elsewhere and it doesn’t come close. The Optician was friendly and took his time explaining and providing a thorough eye test. The lovely lady that served me couldn’t have been more helpful. She was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble… not in the slightest pushy. I visited with my husband and it was his first eye test. Highly recommend anyone to visit. |

I visited this options with my daughter following their letter to advise that my daughter was due her eye test. Subsequently we both had our eyes tested, my daughter picked her new glasses and I decided to wait to pick what I wanted as per the opticians advice to think about whether to have varifocals or not. Upon collecting my daughter's new glasses I requested a copy of both prescriptions.
This is what it states on the NHS website: Following an eye test your ophthalmic practitioner is legally required to provide you with your optical prescription or a statement setting out that you have been referred for further tests.
You should never feel obliged to purchase glasses or redeem an optical voucher from the premises where you had your eye test. Shop around for the best value and only purchase glasses or contact lenses when you are happy with the product and cost.
When I requested a copy of my prescription I was met with what can only be described as intimidation and bullying tactics by the incredibly rude staff in there. I was repeatedly told I couldn't use it elsewhere, they demanded to know where I was looking and where I was going to buy glasses from (I did try to say I wasn't actually going anywhere). I had to leave in the end due to the appalling behaviour that they displayed, my daughter was so upset she asked me never to take her back in there again. These people are only nice to you if you buy your frames from them, and you buy them on the day of your test. The sales staff are aggressive to the point of making people feel uncomfortable and they are very reluctant to give you your prescription (required by law to give it to the customer). Go anywhere except here!!! |
