I attended here yesterday, and was deeply saddened by the service that was provided, mainly concerning the Optician. I informed her that I was currently wearing contact lenses which where not purchased for yourselves, which she then, aggressively and with an extremely rude manner, told me I was wrong for doing so and needed to purchase them from yourselves. She then decided that she was going to report the company, which I have given no permission for her to do so. working in the profession that I do, I know it is very unprofessional and rude to speak to anyone in that manner let alone customers/ patients.
I am so unsatisfied and disappointed with the services and I will not be returning to your opticians in future
Did not want to even give one star but site requires to do so, no stars!

Thursday 27 Wednesday: I had a eye test at Store Optical using the free NHS test due to being in higher education
Wednesday 5 March: Store optical issues glasses where lenses are completely unusable, tried to explain but shop wouldn’t listen, they were more concerned whether or not they fitted properly (the glasses given were the wrong lens strengths, the thicker lens was on the wrong side, and were completely unusable as vision was completely impaired)
Thursday 6 March: went to complain about not being able to see through glasses asked for a test but was denied, only for them to check glasses by looking at the number on the prescription given, then gave me the option to wear them for a number of weeks to see if they would settle, firstly I denied but knowing I was not getting anywhere I accepted their offer knowing I would go and get a second opinion as was being treated unfairly
Friday 7 March: went to Specsavers having to pay £25 for a test for second opinion, they confirmed everything I believed that the glasses where not to standard and they even said I should complain to both traiding standards and to the NHS and to ask for a refund, there I found that lens prescription was a full strength different, the thicker lens was on the wrong side and they said that the glasses were only fit for the bin, they have never seen anything like it
Sataurday 8 march: went to Store Optical to complain again, taking proof that I was right all along and all the paper work I needed to say that they had not done a correct reading or issued the correct lenses, they said that Specsavers had given a very small difference with the lenses being more or less being the same, then they asked why I had gone to Specsavers, I replied that you refused a check my sight with the glasses on so I had to get a second opinion, to which they said they never refused me a test and that I had happily agreed to try and use them for a number of weeks to see if my eyes would get used to them, they also tried to turn it round as if I was to blame for the whole situation. They then asked what I wanted from them and I said I would like a complete refund for the NHS prescription so that I could use in another shop and a refund for needing to pay for another test of £25 as they had wasted the free NHS test. Then they refused and said they would change the lenses to specsavers prescription but they then said they would have no dealings with me over the glasses after this. They then kept the copied Store Optical and specsavers prescription without copying and returning the originals to myself, not even saying how long it will take until I have working glasses, I then had to get a bus to the city centre specsavers to acquire a copy of a prescription and told them the problem I have been having again and they said that they hope I can get this sorted out and that I should complain
This store is a complete joke and would advise anybody to avoid at any cost!! I have now reported the store! |
