Tesco Abingdon, offered a good professional service and useful advice. They provide a free eye test, They are the only service that offer an extra free pair of Variofocals lenses, and frame. What I liked is the fact that they gave you the print out of your prescription without your having to request it. The Variofocal designer brand frame are extremely competitive price wise. |

I went for a free eye test at the opticians within my local store. The consultation was split into two parts with some initial tests carried out by an ophthalmic assistant who seemed to be having a lot of problems setting up and administering the tests. These tests were carried out in a consultation room, but we were interrupted several times during the visual field assessment, and there was a lot of external noise from the Tesco retail environment which was very off putting. The optician I saw seemed competent and professional, but the whole process took 75 minutes, and I had little confidence in the competence of the assistant after so much to-ing and fro-ing. In the end I left having decided to go to my usual independent family practitioner - the free test at Tesco being a false economy. |
