    As part of this, we're also bringing new technology into our pharmacies. This includes 24/7 prescription pick-up machines – meaning you can collect your medicine any time, day or night – and a text notification service, so we can let you know when your prescription is ready to collect.

    Having recently moved to Winsford from the south of England we were impressed by the service we received from the High Street Surgery and local hospitals - that is until we had the misfortune to use Well Pharmacy attached to the surgery. On three occasions recently we have had to wait in a queue trailing outside the door for up to half an hour, while ONE staff member searches for a lost prescription. There have been numerous other staff members in the pharmacy, none of whom had the courtesy to come to the front counter to take prescriptions or find out what patients were after. When you do eventually get to the counter to collect a repeat prescription that was was put in at least 5 days and sometimes two weeks prior to the visit, it has still not been made up ready to collect and you have spend up to another 20 minutes waiting in the chemist for it to be prepared. It seems that they work on the principle that when the patient appears to collect then they will make up the order. Bearing in mind that some of the people using the pharmacy are old and infirm, standing in a queue for up to 20/30 minutes is the last thing they want to be doing. The front of house system used at this particular pharmacy needs a serious revue and the onset of modern technology - (electronic transfer of prescriptions from surgery to pharmacy) - should ensure that this process is faster, but it doesn't. My simple advice to this pharmacy is this - when it is obviously busy, then have at least two staff members operating front of house to reduce the waiting time in the queue and make up prescriptions as soon as they are received and stop the firefighting system that is currently being used. You will make the customers a lot happier about using your pharmacy

    I am not a person to complain, in fact as a retailer myself I always support the retailer where possible but this chemist is beyond ridiculous. I have had bad experiences before here, not being given eye drops for my daughter in law without them seeing her first, leaving a prescription and waiting for over 30 mins to be told there is none in stock, no ibs medication available without prescription and other instances. Last six weeks or so ago (under a tight time restraint) I reluctantly put in my foster sons prescription, for controlled medikinet, signed for the meds as I use the doctors next door with no issues and no ID requests although I had ID on me this time. Today, same thing - waited nearly half an hour and was refused as I had brought no ID (because I wasn't asked for any on previous visits I assumed it was not required at this pharmacy, and just back off the school run I did not have my handbag on me). I then asked if it could be delivered as I needed to get my car back to my husband to go to work and was told it would be monday/tuesday - he had his last tablet this morning..... so this does not help me at all! I have taken the prescription back and been elsewhere and sorted the prescription with no ID just my signature which has been standard since he has been in my care. Very frustrating as it's EVERY SINGLE TIME I talk myself into using this pharmacy as its next to the doctors and 'convenient'. I won't be using this pharmacy ever again, I would not recommend it to anyone. In fact whilst I spent nearly half an hour waiting there was over 5 different complaints from customers one where a 98 year old lady had not received her delivery of medications.... I rest my case. I also don't need a reply saying its 'a legal requirement' to ask for ID on controlled mediknet.... I have never as stated earlier been asked for it before in this pharmacy. Consistency and customer service needs some serious attention!!!!!!! This pharmacy is in start contrast to the Well clinic on Bradbury Road, off Crook Lane which is absolutely fabulous, wonderful staff, friendly nothing too much trouble.
