I find BLIEP staff are very effective and polite. I'm shocked at the criticism by one of the reviewers on this site as I have never know anything but excellent service from BLIEP staff. On occasion the older manager is a little gruff when he is very busy but that is to be understood in these difficult days of the pandemic. it is wonderful to have this pharmacy available locally, so we do not need to go into the city or a large supermarket to collect prescriptions. Well done Bliep! |

I was surprised at how rudely I was treated. The pharmacist hung up on me when I called and, when I visited in person, he treated me as if I were beneath his contempt. I strongly believe that this behaviour is unprofessional and potentially dangerous. I had to make several attempts to obtain my medication whilst dealing with a person who was openly hostile towards me. I went without my medication for several days as a result. I am concerned that vulnerable patients treated this way could suffer more serious outcomes. There was a problem with my repeat prescription record availability, however when I checked with my surgery, they told me it had been passed on several days previously. When I called to ask for the Bliep pharmacist to check before I made a second trip, the pharmacist told me he was too busy to check on the phone. When I tried to explain that I had already visited and am also working 12-hour days to support the global COVID-19 response he hung up. When I visited in person, he was clearly struggling to find my prescription even with the barcode I had obtained from the surgery. He was even more hostile in person, would barley acknowledge my presence and refused to apologise for his rudeness. I do not think that someone in this position in the community should behave in such a way. We all deserve a basic level of respect. This pharmacist's behaviour was deeply unprofessional, and I would recommend that such a person should not be in a public facing role, and particularly should not be acting as a gatekeeper for those in need of essential medication. |
