I've tried this pharmacy in Battle a few times and every time I've been disappointed. The pharmacist couldn't have been less helpful had they been 20 miles up the road. The first time I was looking for a generic version of Canesten Oral (a one table treatment for thrush and the active ingredient is fluconazole). The price was a staggering £5.75. The exact same product is available at other pharmacies at a much cheaper price. This is a generic product and the Day Lewis price is inexcusable. Today I was looking for Buccastem M (for nausea with migraine). The sales assistant didn't know what it was, which is pretty bad considering it's the only product of its kind available over the counter. The pharmacist rocked up, mumbled something about their not selling the OTC version, and that was it! They didn't say hello, offer further advice, suggest I try the Boots further down the high street, respond to my goodbye and thank you as I left ... they did nothing except be staggeringly rude and unhelpful. I pity anyone who goes in there looking for a pharmacist's advice regarding a condition, as we're encouraged to do to relieve some pressure from the NHS. Pharmacists have a great deal of leeway now, regarding the dispensing of many medications. However with that standard of customer care in the Day Lewis pharmacy in Battle, they'd be lucky to be given the time of day. My advice would be to avoid at all costs!
