I do hope that you can get to the root of the problems that are obviously happening at the Eldene chemist. I suggest anyone needing to visit is well prepared re outdoor clothing and some water to keep hydrated!...maybe a packed lunch might come in handy! Yesterday ...Monday 21st December I stood in a queue that did not seem to be moving...10 people outside in front of me...not counting the people in the chemist..one couple obviously has some problems and took ages to be sorted...lack of staff serving on the counter...it was raining....thankful my neighbour was in front of me so we had a lovely conversation...for 90 minutes plus! In fact spoke to quite a few people in the queue..! We cheered when there was any kind of movement in the queue and the front door was coming in sight...getting there! Thankful my eyedrops and prescription for my husband were in stock ..all ordered late on the 5th December! We heard zero by ways of a confirmation text...nobody answers the phone or permanently engaged signal....yes this needs to be sorted for the community ...I and at least 3 of my friends will not be using you again..I feel sorry for your staff...very polite..under great stress...I wish them all a Happy Christmas ...everybody I met in the queue as well...and may 2023 be a better organised one for all of you! |

This pharmacy is no longer fit for purpose, long queues outside in the cold , poor staffing issues, only tobe told your medication is not ready . |

Typical incompetence with dollops of attitude: went to collect prescription for my grandchild, waited over 45 minutes to be served only to be told it wasn't there, despite doctor assuring me medication would be available within an hour of appointment. Was advised to take up the matter with Eldene surgery next door. I insisted they look more closely into the matter and only then did the manager (?) have the gumption to check name, address etc. I wrote it out for the poor fellow and lo and behold the prescription was on their system after all! It had been languishing on the shelf, all dressed up and ready to go..... Had I not held my ground I would have been shunted aside to rejoin the queue at some later date (how very convenient for them.) No apology offered - just the predictable defensiveness and obfuscation. I dread to think the trouble and inconvenience someone less assertive would have been put to - we are dealing with medication here, possibly of critical importance, and not some trivial click and collect regime. My experience - not for the first time, and probably similar to many others', I suspect - reinforces a growing sense in the local community that this pharmacy is not fit for purpose: the combination of incompetence and unprofessional approach to customer care is both unacceptable and potentially very dangerous. I shall be taking up this issue with the regional manager in due course. |
