I went to go get the prescription for my ill relative. On giving the prescription, the technicians started making rude comments about the medicine and my relative. This completely shocked me that they were saying such things openly when I was standing in front of them. I came to the realisation through the humiliating conversation they believed I did not speak English, so throughout it was appropriate to be so rude. I can't imagine how often they do this to people who actually don't speak English. I would have spoken up about it but I was too shaken by what had happened.
