Procedure Information
What happens during knee replacement surgery? A knee replacement is a procedure to remove your damaged knee joint and replace it with an artificial one (a prosthesis or implant) – this is made out of metal, plastic or ceramic. Following surgery your knee should be much less painful and the joint should move more smoothly. New advances in technology offer a greater range of implant types and sizes. Your Nuffield Health surgeon will choose the implant that best fits your body size and lifestyle. In some cases a CT scan or MRI scan of your knee may be used to create special guides that will help your surgeon accurately fit your prosthesis. A knee replacement is normally performed under general anaesthetic During the operation your whole existing knee joint is replaced with a new prosthetic knee joint This takes between one and two hours Your surgeon will make an incision (cut) at the front of your knee where the replacement will be inserted Usually, you will stay in hospital for 2-4 days, but you may have to stay longer if necessary.

Dec 7 2022 Paid for a consultation, never heard back . I am tired dealing with this company, just read the reviews on trust pilot and google and your get the picture. Taking money doing NHS work.

Nov 18 2022 I brought a friend who has a massive fear of needles. He needed blood tests. The nurses concerned were amazing. They were so lovely and patient with him. He really wasn’t going to go through with it he was that scared but their kindness and patience were above and beyond. He was highly delighted that he was able to overcome his fear and it is all down to these two wonderful human beings.

May 13 2019 Quality of care, friendliness and helpfulness of staff was absolutely second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff at all levels were incredibly professional and helpful. Slight hiccup in the discharge procedure but this was down to poor communication of just one person, it was no way a reflection on anyone else. Even though i was fortunate enough to be treated at Nuffield Leicester on the NHS, I can honestly say the level of care I received was no less than someone who is paying privately. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone and anyone who is pending NHS treatment here should not be worried at all, you will be well looked after indeed. A wonderful, friendly team of people who do a terrific job.
