Procedure Information
We understand that having any medical procedure, even one as common and straightforward as a fact joint injection, can cause anxiety. Our dedicated and experienced staff will be there to reassure you throughout.
You’ll lie on your stomach for the injection and your expert consultant will clean your lower back with an antiseptic wipe. They’ll then give you a local anaesthetic which numbs the lower back but does not cause drowsiness.
Your doctor will use live X-ray images enhanced by a contrast/dye injected into your back to identify the painful facet joint. He or she will then inject the medication.
Our clinicians might monitor you for a few minutes to make sure you’re fine to leave the hospital. Typically, you’ll walk out around 20 minutes after you lie down.Hospital Consultants Specialties :

Aug 15 2021 Sent to the hospital by the NHS physiotherapist for urgent treatment on my knee. It was made very plain to me by the Spire specialist Mr Richards that I was an NHS patient in a private hospital. I was given a cursory examination and told to go away and take Ibuprofen. When I asked why my knee was giving out and I was falling over I was told it was just a symptom of arthritis’s and to take Ibuprofen and live with it.

Jan 10 2019 Had a over night stay at havant spire hospital. A particular Consultant looked after me all I can say is what a amazing man he is. he made me feel at ease and took me through my procedure step by step. He is a very talented man and I'm so pleased my my results And I would also like to thank the nurses that looked after me also. Your all amazing. Thank you all again so happy. Bryony newman
