Procedure Information
We understand that having any medical procedure, even one as common and straightforward as a fact joint injection, can cause anxiety. Our dedicated and experienced staff will be there to reassure you throughout.
You’ll lie on your stomach for the injection and your expert consultant will clean your lower back with an antiseptic wipe. They’ll then give you a local anaesthetic which numbs the lower back but does not cause drowsiness.
Your doctor will use live X-ray images enhanced by a contrast/dye injected into your back to identify the painful facet joint. He or she will then inject the medication.
Our clinicians might monitor you for a few minutes to make sure you’re fine to leave the hospital. Typically, you’ll walk out around 20 minutes after you lie down.Hospital Consultants Specialties :

Sep 30 2019 Clare Park is a really good hospital and I am extremely lucky to be treated there. From the moment you walk through the door you are treated with rspect and all the staff are very friendly and put you at your ease. Two of your newer receuits looked after me on my last visit and I beleieve they are a real asset to the hospital. I know I am due to have some more treatment shortly with a Dr who is a really caring doctor and hopefully I will have the same two nurses next time.
Original Comment Report...Spire Clare Park HospitalBy: Susan Small Rating:.. Sep 30 2019 I attended Clare Park as an NHS patient for knee replacement surgery under the care of the surgeon. The ethos of the place is such that it is difficult to pinpoint any aspect of my treatment that fell below being outstanding. The staff, and I mean all of them from the most senior to the most junior, were incredibly caring and considerate and did everything that they could to make my stay pleasant, to speed my recovery and to alleviate my pain. I particularly appreciated that as an NHS patient I was in no way regarded as a second class citizen. Thank you all so much.

Jul 17 2023 Just wanted to say how great the staff were at Clare park whilst I was being treated for a hip replacement. Nothing was too much trouble, always giving me info. Took good care of me. The food was nice & very accommodating. Anything you wanted was never a problem.
