Dear Sir, I have recently been discharged from Bath Clinic, having had both hips replaced, in the last 14 months. Firstly, on 10th February 2022, and secondly on 27 April 2023. In an era where much criticism is levelled at our health service, I am delighted to advise you of the high-quality treatment I have received throughout this period. I was scheduled to undergo a consultation the calm professional manner and concise response to my concerns was extremely reassuring. On arriving for my operation everything was organised and well prepared with a lovely clean room, smart bright staff and an air of reassurance. The theatre staff, both going down and in the pre-op anaesthesia room were bright and cheerful creating an air of confidence which is essential in these circumstances. The actual hip operations both went smoothly and my post operation recovery was both free from any nausea and no pain. I was not left alone at any stage. Within hours on the following day, I was encouraged to get out of bed, given the confidence to walk a few steps and felt that my recovery was, already, underway. The physiotherapy staff were authoritative, knowledgeable and their instructions were both clear and carefully explained, it was made plain that walking on the level and engaging stairs both upwards and downwards was promising in terms of recovery. The supporting booklet with progressive exercises is essential and useful and was followed to the letter. After one night I was discharged. The following day I was concerned that the wound dressing was showing signs of blood leeching on one side. I rang the clinic, on Saturday, and the duty Nurse asked me to send an image. It was examined and within an hour they back, all was well. My outpatient appointment was carried out with obvious competency and when a small area on the wound area that had not sealed the consultant was called, he was able to come and inspect, and immediately decided to apply adhesive and carried out the work himself, keeping my wife fully in the picture whilst doing so. I took great comfort from this and within 2 weeks I was free of any dressing and healing well. Within six weeks I was discharged and resolved at that time that I would write to you, describing my experience, and expressing my appreciation of a job well done all within 14 weeks of my referral from my GP. I was delighted to note the theatre upgrades and the modified roofing to the clinic and to note how it was very much business as usual with the building workers integrating unobtrusively with the patients. Altogether it was a very reassuring experience and I have confidence that our wonderful NHS will regain its place providing leading edge healthcare to the British public for which we should be grateful. From start to finish the surgical team, nursing and non nursing staff made my stay exceptionally comfortable. Every member of staff were totally professional and caring. I was very well looked after. Even after discharge I received a number of telephone calls to check up on my progress. I would most definitely recommend the Bath Clinic if you need total knee replacement surgery. |

I went to the Bath Clinic for a hernia repair as an NHS patient. The staff I encountered were all extremely professional and courteous. My safety and well-being was paramount and I therefore would have no hesitation in recommending The Bath Clinic. |
