Ivelhurst Nursing Home

Mum spent the last few months of her life in Ivelhurst, whilst never leaving her room, the staff were still attentive and seemed to be always on hand when needed. Dad spent his last few months in another home , so we do have something with which to compare Ivelhurst with. Ivelhurst was better in ever respect bar view out of the window, but neither parents were bothered with this by this stage. My experience is that you need not worry leaving a loved one here.

Our 93 year old father was taken ill and after a spell in Yeovil District Hospital decided that he wanted no more treatment but to be allowed to die peacefully. The hospital fast-tracked him to Ivelhurst for end of life care and for the short time he was there until his death he was treated with great care and dignity by friendly and skilful staff who understood his wishes and needs, as well as always making the family welcome and supporting us too. We would have no hesitation in recommending Ivelhurst to anyone in similar circumstances.

My mother has spent nearly six months in this nursing home and we are extremely impressed by the nursing care and personal care she receives here. We visit very regularly and the public rooms are always clean and tidy and smell fresh. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spotless with laundry attended to immediately. The professional care is exemplary with files tidily and professionally kept, scrupulous updating of information and staff able to provide information and knowledge without delay. Four particular members of staff deserve extra mention for their hard work and dedication but all staff deserve praise.
