Ashville Court

Moving a parent into a nursing home is one of the most traumatic experiences you can go through. The anxiety of making the right choice is terrible and there are so many decisions to make it's incredibly hard. For me, finding Ashville Care Home was a huge relief. Yes it may not be the most immaculate of homes but from the minute you enter you can sense that this is a warm loving environment and that is exactly how I find the home since my mum went there in October 12. The staff are wonderful and know each resident personally including the little things they like or dislike. Special mention must be made of the manager who works tirelessly to improve standards and to be creative in activities for the residents. From day 1 she put my mind at rest with her practicality, sense of humour and an offer of being able to text her whenever I needed a reassuring quick update - day or night. The bedrooms are spotless everytime I go and smell fresh and clean. This place is such a lovely warm environment that my mum has improved remarkably since she moved there and I no longer have the worry of her vulnerability living alone. Dementia care is a very specialised area and needs special people to understand it and to encourage the best from sufferers - Ashville exceeds in this area in my opinion. Relatives are positively encouraged to visit at any time and to treat the home as though it's their relatives own - including being able to make a cuppa whenever you like. It's the little things that make a big difference and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.
