My gran went into this home for a week or two and never came out .the care she received was disgraceful because of her age she was just left crying out in pain without her medication it was always on it's way but would never reach her until someone visiting went and begged for it. Her drinking cup was kept on a unit at the foot of her bed unchanged water where she had no way of reaching it, her buzzer was always removed from her side and put onto the wall so she was unable to call for help. Forms were not filled in I visited one Sunday the sheet had not been completed since 6am that morning and were still blank when my sister let at 8.30 that night but the next afternoon they had been filled in with the times she'd been toileted, washed ,fed looked in on and these were untrue events. On one occasion when she was visited her door was wide open and her nightdress was up around her waist with no underwear on they said she'd been restless and must have moved the bedcovers herself. There were flys flying around all the time all over the beds we bought some fly catchers as they were so annoying. We could hear other residents shouting out for help, we had to go get someone as their cries were not being heard by the staff. It was heart breaking we were hoping to get her home as she would have wanted to spend her final days with a bit of love and respect but it never happened she died in a place that no one was bothered.
This home has already been looked into and if we'd have looked into it further and known more there is no way on this earth would she have been placed in their care. |
