The Good Companions provides personal care to 39 older people some of whom may have complex needs. It is situated in the town of Silloth overlooking the Solway Firth. Accommodation is provided in single rooms, the majority having en-suite facilities. There is a passenger lift and stair lifts giving access to the upper floors. There are three lounges and a dining room allowing freedom of movement about the home. There is a garden area for residents to use and car parking facilities.

May 8 2018 My husband went three times to good companions for respite care when it came to deciding full time was required it was ano brainier in choosing this home. All the residents are cared for with love and understanding of all their individual needs, the surroundings are homely and the staff are all friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent and the are alternatives on offer if what is on the main menu is something that the resident doesn’t like or want. There are always plenty of staff on duty and able to help residents immediately if anything is required. The programme of activities is not like any other homes I have looked at, with full time activities staff organising indoor and outdoor activities tailored to the individuals needs and wants, there are also social events when Carers and families are welcomed and able to spend social activities with their loved ones. My husband settled in straightaway and is encouraged to keep busy everyday which is something I could not provide full time at home, he is always going out and about in the community, he has a better social life than me! I can honestly I never worry about my husband when I leave after visiting because I know he is receiving first class care and I have never heard anyone complain about anything, good Companions was a personal recommendation and I would personally recommend it as well.
