Aug 13 2019 Mum has been resident in this care home for a couple of years now, which is long enough to assess the standard of care, hygiene, food, atmosphere and overall value for money. As a relative and visitor, my impression has always been that standards have been consistently high across the board, and that the staff enjoy being there just as much as the residents do. This is a purpose built, modern facility with ample space and gardens facing the sea. It's light and airy, and the more able residents can spend time in the lovely gardens or take a stroll along the sea front. I can't comment on the separate dementia wing, but would imagine that the standards of care are similarly high. From Mum's perspective, at over 90 she feels very relaxed and often comments how fortunate she is to be there. The home was originally built for retired Catholic nuns but there is an increasing proportion of lay residents. The communal kindness, humour, politeness and respect would appeal to many elderly people, whether religious or not. Spectacular sea views a mere bonus!
