The Westbourne Care Home

I would like to thank all the staff at the westbourne for making the last year of my mums life a happy one she enjoyed all the activities and sing songs she won the bingo the week before she passed and I would like to give special thanks to Tammy for all the help she gave my mum she is a lovely caring person and mum throught the world of her. My mum was only there just over 12 months but she could not have been in a better place

My father came here in 2014 and was well looked after, although he passed away within a fortnight. My terminally ill mother has only recently taken up accommodation and is, again, being well looked after. All staff seem very friendly and hard working. Unfortunately my mother cannot enjoy the facilities being in End of Life Care and is confined to bed most days, but staff do endeavour to get her up and about a bit. The home is always spick and span.

My frail, often difficult, relative moved into The Westbourne one month ago. In spite of extreme old age and a very long stay in hospital, she was welcomed and settled in remarkably quickly. Management and staff, are all caring, and competent, getting on with ensuring that residents, no matter what their difficulties, are as happy as possible in what has now become their home. In spite of the CQC status, which I had already carefully read prior to visiting unannounced, I found that the member of staff who showed me round , was open and honest, and it was quite obvious that in spite of residents' own difficulties, they seemed to be content and well cared for. I believe that the turnaround which I understand to have taken place during this year, under the new manager has very successfully ensured that residents' needs and happiness are paramount. I do not 'cast roses' lightly.. but this is a large bouquet.
