Althorpe Residential Home

I was discharged from hospital but not able to cope on my own my daughter suggested I have a couple of weeks respite in a care home, Althorpe was recommended as a very good home, my daughter visited and couldn't wait for me to see the beautiful room I had been offered, once discharged my daughter took me to Althorpe Care home on arrival the staff on duty all introduced themselves and asked what my preferred name would be whilst I stayed there, normally I would have suggested using Mrs Little but they were all so friendly I felt at home and suggested they called me by my first name, I am a very very Independent person and always have been apart from my daughters Help I usually do everything for myself, due to my illness I found I wasn't able to be independent and had to rely on help from others, not looking forward to that I tried to do things that I soon found I wasn't able to do, the staff are very patient and told me I would be able to go back to being independent but until such time they are to help, I am so pleased I went to Althorpe Care Home I'm sure they made it possible for me to get back home and to appreciate life, While there I had my hair done by The hairdresser who visits weekly, I had the chiropodist check my feet being a diabetic this was wonderful I am unable to do this for myself and wait forever to have them done in my own home, I even celebrated my 84th birthday there and was treated like a queen, I will highly recommend Althorpe Care Home, I would also like to thank the staff through your page for the care, compassion, dedication and friendly service I received, if ever I need care I will not hesitate I will go to Althorpe Mrs D Little
