Jul 15 2018 My brother was moved from an old people’s home in Barnstaple due to Parkinson’s & relating mental problems as he wasn’t getting any stimulation there. He said that he likes it at Hilldales and I found the staff I met extremely caring and pleasant. Although a report suggests it’s in need of improvements, considering this is not a private run home and mental health care has not received the funding needed in the past, (and probably still not getting enough) staff have a hard job on their hands. The atmosphere overall was good, and meeting some staff and seeing other residents my mind was put at rest which is very important as I live over 4 hours drive away. It was just a pity that I was unable to ensure that he had a little more items with him from his house in Biddeford. Thank you to the staff.
