Fernihurst Nursing Home

My parent has been at the home for a while now. The care is generally very good when they are fully staffed but it seems all too often they are short staffed. Some of the careworkers go out of their way to make the patient's lives worth living. Whenever I've had a problem it's been quickly resolved, however awkward. They are very professional. Although this is a big home it doesn't feel like it because each floor is like a small home. Patients are welcome to roam around from floor to floor if they wish but most don't.

As a family we could not of coped without Fernihurst ,my Mum had severe Vascular Dementia as well as terrible medical problems due to a nasty fall which seemed to cause the Dementia to escalate very quickly which was agony to watch someone you love endure this terrible disease ,without Fernihurst we would never of coped ,the staff were always so supportive to us ,nothing was ever to much trouble ,always time to speak to us and try and reassure us in our low moments which were many ,We liked the fact the Care Home Manager was always there to speak to us and keep us updated on everything that was going on with Mum ,even when they were busy, they always found the time ,I do not live in Exmouth ,but always kept informed of anything they thought I should know which was a comfort to me ,all members of staff treated my Mum well and spent so much time comforting her when she was distressed ,upset or just wanted someone to be with her, we cannot express how lucky we were to of found such a caring home that could meet all her needs which were many because we could never have coped without them all .
