Our dedicated and experienced team is passionate about providing first-class 24-hour nursing care alongside expert care for people with dementia in our Memory Lane Community. We also provide expert care for younger people with a physical disability or acquired brain injury, and have close links with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Thistle Hill recently became only the second Yorkshire care home (both are part of Barchester Healthcare) to be awarded the prestigious Quality of Life Kitemark for Dementia Care Matters& Butterfly Service™ for providing outstanding and sustained dementia care to the community it serves. Being one of only 25 homes nationwide to have received this Award, we aim to recognise, support and celebrate each persons individuality.
Our team of highly-qualified staff really focus on the individual needs of all our residents with a tailored care plan for each person. This dedication can be seen in all aspects of life within the home - in our cooking, hospitality and our social activity, events and visits programme which is designed to meet the needs and particular interests of all those who live with us at Thistle Hill.

Aug 26 2019 My mother needed specialist care and Thistle Hill could not have been better. All the staff have been kind, thoughtful and dedicated. Mum is nt easy sometimes and they show infinite professional care day after day. The facilities are clean and well maintained, the gardens gorgeous and the décor friendly and fresh. Visitors are welcome and if I do have questions about Mums needs all the staff will try to share information and advice in frank yet respectful way which is easy to understand but also maintains Mums dignity. A great place doing a great job for which I am very grateful.
