Grandma is really happy here and as a family we are so happy to find a place where she is loved and cared for so well. |

I am so happy with the home the staff are caring and wonderful. The home has recently been refurbished by new owners and has so many things for the residents to do I recently took my dad to their cinema room and pub and he loved every minute. The manager is really kind and helpful. I am so relieved to have found a place for my dad where I know he is loved and cared for. |

Residents need 24/7 care, including weekends. The meals i have witnessed served?... They are bland, lack of colour and disappointing. Over the last 6 months the level of care has reduced significantly. Reply from The Fountains Care Centre Tue, 12 Jan 2016 05:40:00 Z Thank you very much for this review of our service. With regards to the comments raised, in terms of staffing, The Fountains Care Centre works on a daytime staffing ratio of 1 carer to 5 residents, with nurses being an additional extra. This is a ratio which we feel exceeds our legal obligation to provide "sufficient and suitably qualified staff in numbers proportionate to the category of care being provided". Occasionally, as with any organisation which relies so completely on our wonderful staff, illness or other extenuating circumstances can affect this, and we are continually recruiting to ameliorate such instances as much as possible. Generally, the feedback we have received with regards to our meals and hospitality have been very good. Our residents are offered a second and in most cases a third choice of meals on a daily basis. Obviously, being an environment for the older person, the challenge is to ensure that we satisfy as many palates as possible, something that we continually strive to do. It is disappointing that in such as case we have not had the opportunity to receive feedback directly from the family of this resident, in which case, as we aim to do with all feedback directly received, we could have discussed the issues they have brought to this forum on a more personal basis and aimed to resolve them. |
