The Homestead, newly opened in 2008, is a purpose-built property with state-of-the-art facilities designed to support individuals with nursing and dementia care needs.& The name dates back to the 1900s when Carterton began.
The accommodation is divided over three floors, each individually named with all 68 bedrooms having en-suite bathrooms.& There are a number of communal areas and quiet spaces for residents.& Each floor has a separate dining area.& There are assisted bathrooms on each floor.& Additional facilities include a fully fitted kitchen from which residents have a choice of good wholesome foods, a laundry where staff ensure that personal clothing is laundered and returned to the resident within 24 hours, a hairdressing salon, a holistic therapy room, a café and a large day area leading out into an enclosed therapeutic garden area.
