Ashwood Care & Nursing Home

My mum had lived at Ashwood for three years and has recently passed. In that time she was loved and cared for to the highest standard by all the staff. Management are kind and caring, a credit to the home.

The team cared for my Mum in the last three weeks of her life after her discharge from hospital following a stroke which left her bedridden. Although far from a willing patient as she suffered with dementia, Mum was treated with consideration, dignity and understanding and made as comfortable as possible in the circumstances. Her room was very bright and clean with a nice view of the garden and we were encouraged to bring personal effects that were important to her. The staff go above and beyond to make the patient and their family feel welcome and I would say they score highly on their level of medical care and attention. As an immediate (and often distressed) relative, they looked after me too, making sure I was ok and nothing was too much trouble for them. Mum's last moments were peaceful and dignified. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Nursing home to others.
