Sadly did not meet expectations, lack of management and lack of staff. Father was in upstairs room that seemed to miss out on general activities. After becoming unwell was confined to bed where he developed 3rd grade compression sores. Was finally admitted to hospital. The care home couldn't meet his needs for caring and did not take him back leaving us with nowhere to send him at such short notice. Home says it's dementia friendly but we disagree some staff were nice but others didn't give alot of time to residents. Would not recommend.

My mother was in this care home from December 2014 until she died may 2015 . During this time a family member visited every day . Mum was frequently dirty . Had persistent diarrhoea. We had to practically beg for a doctor to visit . The most degrading aspect of this standard of care was that frequently mum had to suffer the indignity of being changed by a male carer . On the night she was admitted to hospital ,where she subsequently died , I was called in the early hours of the morning by a night carer who told me to get myself to the hospital quickly . No one had accompanied mum in the ambulance and I arrived to find mum very confused and frightened with medical staff trying to treat her with no recent medical history . This care home should be avoided

I had been searching for the ideal place for my mum who is suffering from dementia and was having trouble walking about, I had looked at a few care homes but they always seemed to be lacking in cleanliness and care and was unsure where to take my mum. My wife suggested the Queens Care Centre the one place I'd missed out on because it was literally on my doorstep I never thought it could be any different to the others I'd looked at with it being local. I decided to pop in one day and was welcomed straight away by the manager and shown around the care home, it was like a five star hotel compared to all the other places I had seen, all the staff were very friendly, it was spotless inside very, very clean and no bad smells. My mum went into the Queens Care Centre in July 2014, at the time she could hardly walk because of the painful arthritis in her knees but within just a few weeks she had ditched her zimmer frame, got her own hairdresser, played bingo, made new friends, she even took over the dance floor whenever they had entertainment on! My mum Doreen is still going strong and for me it was the best decision ever placing her into the Queens as I'd been under a lot of stress with my mother was struggling at home without 24 hour care, now all that stress has gone because I know she is looked after by carers that do care 100% and I don't have to worry anymore plus I'm only five minutes away. I would recommend the Queens Care Centre to anyone looking for somewhere special I have no complaints whatsoever all the staff are brilliant and for me the place is a hidden gem in Maltby!
